Forró & Popcorn 🎬🍿
Baile Perfumado (1996) depicts Lampião’s cangaceiros in the 1930s, the group that created Xaxado. Here we see a bit of the controversy around the most emblematic cangaceiro gang leader and the only ever real captured scenes of Lampião and his group.
In the workshop we will practice some of the traditional xaxado steps, and how we adapted it to dance in pairs.

About Miss Brown
DJ Miss Brown (Trish) has spent over 20 years as a vinyl DJ and professional dancer, and nearly three years immersed in forró. With a growing vinyl collection dedicated to the genre, her sets take dancers on a musical journey from the 1940s traditional songs to contemporary forró, mixing in some unexpected gems from other styles.
About Bruna
Brazilian forró teacher, based in The Hague, Bruna has been teaching for over 5 years. Besides running regular classes here, in Utrecht, and soon also in Rotterdam, she has been teaching in several forró festivals abroad. Her classes focus on technique, musicality, comfort and connection, blending different styles of forró.
