Programme

Forró Introduction Crash Course with Bruna Azevedo (19:30 - 20:00)

The evening will start with a complete beginners crash course, led by Bruna Azevedo, forró teacher based in The Hague. In this 30 min introduction to Forró, you will be able to learn the basic steps allowing you to dance the night away.

Vinyl set by DJ Miss Brown (20:00 - 21:00 & 23:00 - 01:00)

Trish Preston, a.k.a DJ Miss Brown, is a professional dancer and has been spinning vinyls for over 20 years, blending her eclectic musical upbringing and experience from London's late 80s and early 90s underground club scene.

Concert with Cainã Araujo and band (21:00 - 23:00)

Forró singer, composer, and poet Cainã Araújo started playing the accordion at the age of nine and began performing professionally at fourteen. In 2015, he launched his solo career.

His breakthrough came in 2018 with the album Estrada do meu peito, which won him a wide audience and was played on various radio stations. That same year marked the beginning of a new chapter: after a competition in Itaúnas, he was invited to present his music abroad.

He moved to Europe with heart and soul, where he released Eu e Ela no Forró (2019) and has since played at festivals such as Forró London, Ai Que Bom (Paris), Tome Forró (Germany), and Forró Roma. He has also performed in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, among other countries.
