Join us for two special courses this summer! 4-week courses that you can join entirely or in single classes.
MUSICALITY
Do you feel you need to know songs by heart to be musical? In this course, you'll learn to understand and express music better, even on first listen. Practice techniques for both slow and fast songs, and discover the rich musicality of Forró.
This course is perfect for forró dancers with at least 3 MONTHS of class experience who:
- Struggle with finding or keeping the rhythm
- Is often caught by surprise by the changes in melody in a the song
- Want to understand forró common patterns and its musical structure
- Want to be more expressive and improvise during the dance
ROOTS STYLE
Have you seen dancers doing intricate footwork movements in a closed embrace and would like to be able to do it as well? This course unpacks the history of this increasingly popular forró dance style and will give you the foundations to practice it yourself.
This course is perfect for forró dancers with at least 6 MONTHS of class experience who:
- Already has a good base of forró universitário
- Wants to understand more of the Roots Style and its foundations
- Knows a few steps of roots but cannot lead of follow well every time
- Want to add more roots repertoire to their dance and be able to dance with more people
Note: Our roots class currently has a lot more followers than leaders, so we have limited our ticket sales including the Roots course to Leaders only. Apologies for the inconvenience. Leaders, sign up!
