Prerequisites
Three months of experience in dance classes, being comfortable with bases and simple turns.
About the Teachers and workshops
Alice Rodrigues and Lucas Dumont are experienced Forró instructors who will be teaching together in Den Haag.
Alice Rodrigues
Alice started dancing Forró in 2011 at Pé Descalço, becoming a teacher there in late 2014. She has achieved the school's highest level, is an examiner, and part of the official performance group. Alice has taught workshops at festivals in Brazil and Europe, in over seven countries, and has run teacher training courses. Her expertise is mainly in Forró Universitário, with experience in Forró Roots. She has also studied other dances, enriching her teaching techniques for both leaders and followers, focusing on functionality, musicality, complexity, and personal expression.
Lucas Dumont
Lucas began dancing Forró in 2006 at age 14, graduating from Pé Descalço in 2009 and immediately started teaching there. He has held various roles at the school, including examiner coordinator and teacher's course instructor. Lucas has expanded his dance knowledge with other ballroom dances like Samba and Zouk, and has experience in West Coast Swing, Salsa, Bolero, and Tango. He has taught in 10 Brazilian states and over 15 countries. Lucas focuses on dance diversity and improving the connection between partners and music.
